2022 Annnual Report to ParishionersWe are pleased to present the 2022 Annual Financial Report to the parishioners of St. Matthew Parish. This report reflects the fiscal year July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022. Some highlights from the report: St. Matthew is pleased to offer online giving to easily provide the means for one-time as well as recurring gifts! billericacatholic.org/givenow This year St. Matthew Parish focused on stewardship in all aspects of parish life. We continue this into this coming year. Although our offertory increased in FY 2022, we continue to fall short meeting our monthly expenses. The FY2023 Budget shows a deficit. We need to increase revenue & contributions to balance our budget and pay our bills. FY2022 saw higher than normal increases in the cost of gas and electricity resulting in increased utility costs for the parish. Every effort is being made to monitor costs and expenses. If everyone could increase their monthly contribution by $360 a year ($30.00/month; $6.90 a week) we could bridge the gap in our budget deficit – balancing our budget for FY 2023!
Welcome to our Parish Community!
Anyone is welcome to wear a mask anywhere in our Churches. We look forward to welcoming you when you are ready to return.

On Friday evenings during Lent (except Good Friday) the Parish will be hosting a simple, meatless “Soup Supper” consisting of a variety of soups, bread and butter, a beverage and more.
The Lenten Environment Fasting, Almsgiving, and Prayer are the three traditional disciplines of Lent. The faithful and Catechumens should undertake these practices in a spirit of penance and preparation for Baptism or of renewal of baptism at Easter. The bare trees in the sanctuary represent the dormancy of winter and Lent. We look forward to the Resurrection of Christ and His conquering of death. We will soon see the blooming of the Easter flowers.

The Catholic Church in Billerica has a long history dating back to 1868
Beginning with the Parish of Saint Andrew in North Billerica, spreading to St. Mary Parish established in 1937 in Pinehurst, and then St. Theresa Parish in Billerica Center established in 1945. You’ll see a culture of people grounded in their faith coming together to build up the Church in their community. These parishes joined together in August 2020 to form St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish serving the Catholic faithful in the town of Billerica. All are welcome!
