Father Aveni celebrated the 25th ordination to the priesthood with us today in a beautiful Mass. He was joined by Bishop Hennessey, Bishop of the Merrimack region, and Very Reverend Robert Connors, VE, Fr. Jean Sassou, our parochial vicar, as well as priests in residence Fr. Romain Rurangirwa and Fr. Joe Ogazieas well as Fr. Hal Obayashi .

We also celebrate 4 years of Father Aveni's leadership here in Billerica. In July, Father will move to his new assignment in Marshfield. Today, staff and parishioners were on hand to thank Father Aveni for his dedication and leadership to Saint Matthew the Evangelist.

Our parish is better today because of his pastoral leadership, guidance and dedication. The staff and parishioners wish you the best and thank you for serving us these last 4 years.
