St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish recognizes all our graduating seniors of the class of 2022, and offered them a special blessing at Mass on Sunday, June 12.
Seth Moody (BMHS ’22) was presented with a scholarship award from the Women’s Club. In the fall of 2021, his Eagle Scout project was building the Outdoor Stations of the Cross.
Take Your Next Step: As we emerge from the pandemic as a church community, now is the best time for our young adults to be active members of the community – we need YOU! And we want you to step up because we know you can, and we will be here to support you. Being involved in Church after Confirmation was the best way for me (Tony) to grow in my own faith – and now we are starting to provide those opportunities. Don’t miss out!
Opportunities to Take a Step of Faith:
1. Music Ministry at the Sunday 5pm Mass – We are looking for singers and musicians to form a new music ministry for our parish. Please contact our office for more information. This group will decide how frequently they will practice and offer music at the Sunday 5pm Mass.
2. Helping with the Sunday 5pm Mass – We are inviting teens to help at all our Masses, but in particular we want teens to be the Readers (Lector, bible readings), Greeters (say hello at the door, etc.), and Extraordinary Ministers of Communion (the fancy title for those who help distribute Eucharist, Communion). For more information or to sign up, check out sign up genius online.
3. Helping with Faith Formation Ministries During the School Year – Whether you are staying local after graduation or will be in town occasionally, you are welcome to help us with our ministry to Teens, Youth, Children and their families. We invite our young adults to be Small Group Leaders, Assist with our Come and See Gatherings, maybe give a talk at a Teen Ministries’ Life Night, or even assist with some of the faith formation happening through Zoom (which you could do from anywhere).
