What a wonderful day celebrating all those who serve our parish!
We celebrated our volunteers on Saturday, August 26th with an Appreciation BBQ help at St. Matthew Parish Hall. Staff and members of their families cooked and served a traditional BBQ meal.
Our parish is grateful and blessed to have so many committed volunteers. We missed those who were unable to join us, but kept them in our prayers and thoughts. We have over 200 volunteers in our parish who work behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Volunteers assist with Faith Formation, Liturgical Ministry, Homebound Ministry, Parish Councils (Pastoral Council, Finance Council, and Building Committee), and Counting Teams, to name just a few.
Hamburgers, hot dogs (with chili if desired), pulled pork, potato salad, macaroni salad, garden salad, watermelon, and corn on the cob.....along with all the fixings were served. Cake, cookies, and more were served for dessert.
A wonderful day was had by all socializing, eating and celebrating the volunteers.
Father Chris prayed for all of our volunteers at the weekend Masses.
